SSHHHH! Top Secret OAMMS Granolla!

In third grade I created this recipe.  It was such a hit that I have been making it ever since.  I make a TRIPLE batch and we eat it ALL within a few days!

3 C old fashioned rolled oats

2/3 C sliced nuts (we prefer almonds)

1/2 C coconut

1/4 C salted butter or do unsalted and add 1/2 tsp salt

1 C M&Ms (mixed in after the granola has cooled)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 325 F.

2. In a large bowl stir together oats, nuts, coconut and salt (if you are using it).

3. In a saucepan melt butter with honey over low heat stirring often.  Then pour it over the oat mixture and mix it in.

4. Put parchment paper on cookie sheet and spread granola evenly over it.

5. Bake in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes – stirring it halfway through to prevent burning.  Cool granola in the pan.  When it is cool mix in the M&Ms.

The granola should be stored in a cool airtight container for up to 2 weeks – if it last that long! 😉
